has any one actually made a 3d game? from what i can gather, most of you arent to good at graphics programming. this is just an asumption so dont get  if you are a pro.

i know this should probably have gone in the off topic forum but any way.

But apart from the sanitation, the medicine, education, wine, public order, irrigation, roads, the fresh-water system, and public health, what have the Romans ever done for us?

I haven't really focused on 3D programming but I know Invictus, Darobat and RITZ are good programmers and know quite a lot of OpenGL stuff.

I never managed to make something really good out of OpenGL but now that I know a little bit more physics and maths I think I'm ready for this but I don't have much time because I have to practice the guitar for my band.

well to be honest, the most advanced thing i have ever made with opengl is a translucent (i think thats how you spell it) cube with a ball bouncing around inside. both the ball and cube are textured and the cube is spinning on the y axis.

why does the best stuff always have to be the hardest???

Not all great programmers make 3D games. Some dont even make GUIs.
Need information on a function I've posted? Chances are it's at the MSDN.

The great programmers know that working in the computer game industry is not that great.

Writing 3D graphics doesn't make you a professional programmer. I've seen professional programmers who are appreciated and write 2D games or even console applications.
There is something in each of us we don't know. Something with great power.

The language you use is independent of how good you are at programming. If you're a great programmer your skills should work across languages.

well personnaly id prefere to make a nice looking 3d world with brilliant effects and mirrors and zappy looking things than a console app

What's wrong with console applications?
