The Mandriva should have some sort of partitioner in the installer. if not, you can burn a Knoppix Live CD and run 'gparted'.

I would say: go with Debian.
I know this is very hard, but is very good!
I can't look around (Its too much to take in)
I can't hold on (When I'm stretched so thin)
I can't slow down (Watching everything spin)
I can't look past (Its starting over again)

C++. The life of all!

I'm having a prob and i have not find any solutions yet despite asking for help on the different linux distro forums.
I thought of posting it here also, may be someone can hopefully help me out.

So, here is my problem:

==> My USB ADSL Sagem 800 is detected by linux, but no connection is eever made!

I have tried with mandiva, kanotix, ubuntu... But no success!
All of these distro, detects my USB and ask for login name and password as you would expect, but when i click on "connect", nothing really happens!

I'm becoming mad with this, i don't know where the prob is..

Please can anyone help.

Sounds like a PPPoE problem. I had a similar problem.
Fixed it by connecting it through my router that supports PPPoE.

Ensure that your modem doesn't already have router support before you drop the cash to get a router though. I accidentally did, but I'm still happier with a decent linksys opposed to the abomination that is westell modem / routers.
I don't need big brains to have a good time.

write "man gcc" / "man g++" for C/C++ programming.
As for Java you'll have to download it. Check javas website (or if the dist you're using have some kind of ports it could be in there)

Mono might offer a VB.NET compiler. I'm not sure though.
Need information on a function I've posted? Chances are it's at the MSDN.

Hey what about Linspire? Its very windows like. Good for noobs. I knew how to use it almost straight away.
But apart from the sanitation, the medicine, education, wine, public order, irrigation, roads, the fresh-water system, and public health, what have the Romans ever done for us?
