1 = 2

Cool math problem that I was given.

-------------------------------------
Mathematical proof that 1 = 2

Assume:
a = b
b > 0, a > 0

ab = b^2
ab - a^2 = b^2 - a^2
a(b - a) = (b + a)(b - a)
a = b + a
1 = 1 + 1
1 = 2
------------------------------------

Supposedly it proves that 1 = 2 but there is a flaw in the steps, can you find it?

a(b - a) = (b + a)(b - a)
a = b + a

Dividing by 0, are we?

I prefer this:

-1 = -1

-1/1 = 1/-1

sqrt(-1/1) = sqrt(1/-1)

sqrt(-1) / sqrt(1) = sqrt(1) / sqrt(-1)

i / 1 = 1 / i

i = -i

1 = -1

:)
Need information on a function I've posted? Chances are it's at the MSDN.

how is it that u get from
-1 = -1
to
-1/1 = 1/-1

they are completely different things.

Well, how much is -1/1? And how much is 1/-1?

No no, safari. Money is the root of evil. Money may start war, but it does not equal war, it is simply a root of war, which is evil.
So
war = evil
money = evil^(1/2)
girls = evil^(1/2)
evil = nice^2

Two wrongs don't make a right, but clearly to rights make a wrong.

Employee: " Eh sir. I had to take the square root of some negative numbers to make what we have = what we you said it should be"

Boss: "Well done son! I will present these number when we meet the stockholders next week. I also want to increase your monthly salary with the square root of minus three"

Employee: "Thank you sir: You are to (-kind)^½"

:lol:

You could also prove that girls dont exist because

girls = sex

and there is nothing like a good square root.
But apart from the sanitation, the medicine, education, wine, public order, irrigation, roads, the fresh-water system, and public health, what have the Romans ever done for us?

power = work / time
but: knowledge = power
and: time = money
so: knowledge = work / money
or: money = work / knowledge

So, as knowledge approaches zero, money approaches infinity. This shows that managers will always be paid more than techs.
