Progamming 101

Postby gorkhali » Sun Nov 30, 2003 10:44 pm

Hello everyone
I am new to C++, I am taking it for my progamming 101 class, I am enjoying a lot and I think I am learning a lot too. I was just wondering what kind of help can I get here, I do not expect someone to do my projects but can I get help with my projects.
I have written my last project but I am having trouble compling it, if I post the whole program, can someone help me with it...
Please let me know, How this forum works? I have read the first part of this forum about you guys not doing my homework. I just wanted someone to point out my errors and teach me how to do it..

Thank you..

Instead of posting all of the code, post only the line(s) that are causing the problems. Remember to post the exact error message as well.

The kind of help you can expect here depends somewhat on what you ask.

By following the suggestions about code tags, posting code in addition to your questions, you should get plenty of help.

Many times people ask questions about non-standard functions which are totally dependant on the compiler being used and the operating system without specifying the compiler and OS, making it impossible to give good help.

You're at least one up on many people here that don't read before posting and it wastes everyone's time. That is appreciated.

I am using Borland C++ 5.01 as my compiler and my OS is Windows XP..
I have written all my program, this is my last program for my class, it is giving me 8 errors.... this is my very first progamming class.... I might have written too much code or less.... I have no way of knowing... it would be appreciated...

Please post the errors and the lines that the errors occur on.

An easy way of doing it is to copy and paste your code, then in the message, select your code and hit the "Code" button just below the subject. This will put code tags around your code and make any formating look more acceptable. Also, try to keep lines to under 50 characters long or so. Otherwise wrappage may occur, which doesn't look very good either.
