Please be patient :)

I am sure the contests will return, but there are still things that Loobian is working on to complete the setup of the new forums....

As soon as that is completed, I am sure he will turn his attention to the contests...

I think, in another thread, he did make a comment about future contests, I'll try and find it....

Here it is:

I am not sure if I am going to make more contests soon, because I am busy. But if anyone is willing to make the contest, then I will create forum for them, and everything will be just like before.

I think that in another thread, Loobian made it clearer that, at the moment, anyone wanting to create a contest will also have to be willing to administer and judge it.... I'm sure Loobian will correct me if that is not the case....

Hi there!

I have no problem with contests, as long as someone is willing to run them: put them, manage them, judge them, finish them.

Any volunteers? Ryan used to be one, but he is missing somewhere... no word from him :(

Loobian, what kind of server space do you have? Is it possible that someone(like me) could write a code snippet that receives contest submissions using a www-interface and save the codes somewhere for judging?

It could compile and test participants' sources automatically at the specified deadline and refuse to accept submission afterwards. To prevent abusing the submission system could be member-only(people joined in the forum or a completely separate member list). Some Unix-machine could be ideal for this (command line gcc, shell scripts and scheduled commands executing). This way running the tests would be quite faster. Maybe someone else has a server box to sacrifice for this purpose? :D

Any comments are appreciated. :)

well I have an old laptop where I have a web server set up on it and all, and I think it's very possible to install unix/linux on it; I did it before. I have broadband internet and is always online. But, I'm having a few problems with my router right now, so probably can't help out much untill i fix that dillema.
