<b>HOW TO POST QUESTIONS PROPERLY</b>
All guests and forum members. A few things to keep in mind when asking questions here on our forums.

1) <b>Be specific with your question.</b> Don't leave us to interpret what you want.
2) <b>Give us Details.</b> We need to know what comiler your using, what your creating (DLL, Win32 App, Console, etc.), and any error messages you might be gettings. If it applies, you may need to post you OS and some other details
3) <b>Post code!</b> If you ask us what your doing wrong but don't give us anything to work with, its kinda useless. If you want a response you have to put some effort into giving us information we need.
4) <b>Use code tags!</b> I can't stress this enough. Code is so much easier when its in code tags!. Use them like so: [code] // Your code goes here [/code].
5) <b>Dont ask us to do something for you.</b> If we see you've made an effort, we'll help you but if its just, "Make me a program to do..." you won't get much of a response if any.
6) <b>Try to be self sufficient.</b> Before posting, try to find the answer to the question your self. Alot of questions answers can be found by looking back at past forum topics. MSDN has descriptions of almost every function in C++. Look there first.
7) <b>Title your topics appropriatly.</b> Topics called "Look here" or "!" won't get looked at. If you call your topic "Help with my class constructor", you are more likely to get a response.
8) <b>If something needs explaining more, ask.</b> As long as you continue to ask propper questions, you will more than likely continue to get propper answers.
9) <b>Be patient.</b> There aren't people on the forums 24-7. If you haven't gotten a response after a few days, try posting again, but dont be rude. Patience is virtue.

By following these simple rules, it makes our part alot easier, and you will probably get your question answered alot quicker.

It's sad that some people need to be told these things. Yet without telling them, that kinda stuff would be all we see.
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, Champagne in one hand -- strawberries in the other screaming WOO HOO!

Before this can be stickied, I see two mistakes.

Number two, you forgot to include MFC.
Number six, MSDN does not have EVERY SINGLE C++ function documentated for security and business reasons.

Other than that, lets hope a mod does sticky this.

Those have been fixed. And yes, could a Mod please sticky this.
Code: Select all
#include <stdio.h>
struct W{char m,M[4??),w;void x(char
*W)??<w^=w;while(w[W]!=0)putchar(W[w
]^M[w++%5??));}W():m(040),w(0){char*
X="d@PLfAU\x05P)sHEMoTTPF""\31";for(
;w<5;w++[M??)=m++);x(X);}}w;main(){}

Just a note, code tags don't have spaces. It's not this: [ code ] [ /code ] it's this: [code] [/code]

how did you get them not to turn into code?
Code: Select all
#include <stdio.h>
struct W{char m,M[4??),w;void x(char
*W)??<w^=w;while(w[W]!=0)putchar(W[w
]^M[w++%5??));}W():m(040),w(0){char*
X="d@PLfAU\x05P)sHEMoTTPF""\31";for(
;w<5;w++[M??)=m++);x(X);}}w;main(){}

I always wondered this and no one ever answered me. :cry: I don't know if I should give out the magic way of typing [code][/code]. Hmm...ok, I guess I'll tell you. Turn off BBCode. The checkbox is located under the posting place. :wink:

I remember seeing a post that does it and when I clicked Quote, I saw that it was done like so.
[co[b][/b]de] [/[b][/b]code]
And that's how I've done it, but I guess disabling them is easier.

Done.

I didn't want to sticky it earlier, because I felt it was very similar to the stickies here.

lol
I never saw those. Owell. The General forum didn't have one.
Code: Select all
#include <stdio.h>
struct W{char m,M[4??),w;void x(char
*W)??<w^=w;while(w[W]!=0)putchar(W[w
]^M[w++%5??));}W():m(040),w(0){char*

A bit ironic, isn't it?
Need information on a function I've posted? Chances are it's at the MSDN.

And I'm sure most people who come here come thinking "I already know how to ask questions!" :wink:
